THE STORYTELLER MAN

in Ireland (and sometimes Spain)

1. You are curious what a story teller is or does.
2. You have or are about to book me and wonder "Is he any good?"

I spend quite a bit of time traveling and story telling in Spain and I also write for a couple of Spanish magazines. Recently I have found "Siesta" time it is becoming more and more popular, at this hot time of the day, to sit in the shade over a cup of tea or a cool drink and listen to story telling for an hour. It can be very relaxing and a topic of new conversation later.

My stories are mainly based on a great hobby everyone does.  "People watching". It  is a very pleasant occupation. The series on TV, Benidorm, emphasises all the eccentricities of people as though through a magnifying glass, and to watch people behaving naturally in that vein is most rewarding. Try it in an airport when you are bored out of your mind, you will soon learn peoples' little foibles and it helps to pass the time making up little stories in your head about them and what they do and what their expectations are.

 If you have any interest in Spain and things Spanish look up Eye on Spain web site (www.eyeonspain.com).  It is huge with content for everyone. Be careful as if you start to browse you get sucked in. I have disappeared for hours on it and I find it a great mine of information with excellent writing, stories and, even though it is aimed at ex pats, it is full of useful information, great for a holiday maker.  If you are going on holiday look at it first as it will give you an insight into life in Spain from a British ex pats point of view.
